Do you remember our friend Steve? We used to play Steve and Maggie TV videos on the classroom. Today we're going to see the stories about wild animals from our friend Steve. Just relax and see these episodes... how many animals can you see?

Can you draw your favorite wild animal on a piece of paper? I'm sure you can! I wish I could see it! If you need some inspiration, watch this video. 

BEAUTIFUL COLORS!

Today we're going to review the colors! How important they are! They make us feel so happy! Can you imagine the world without colors? It would be so sad... 

Let's start listening to this song! What is your favorite color? 

Then we're going to visit our friend the frog. Click on the picture and see how she colors the rainbow. 

After that, let's play a little bit. Can you guess the colors?

Finally let's see this video from Steve and Maggie TV. Hope you like it!

HOMOPHONES: IE, IGH, I_E

Today is Phonics day. We're going to review the letter "I" homophones. As we usually do, we're going to start with a couple of songs, just to warm up. 

Then we're going to play. Click on "Play as a singer player". 

 

At the end, write a chart like this in a piece of paper and classify the words you learn (7 of each group) in the videos above.

PHONICS: ZACK THE RAT

Let's practice some Phonics today with this lovely book. We're going to review simple letter sounds from the third first stages of learning. 

First of all, let's review the basic letter sounds with this video. 

Then, open this link and read the story. Try to read of repeat the words you see there. Click on the words to listen to their pronunciation. Imitate those new sounds, how do they sound on you? Weird? That's fun!

Now, do these activities. Complete the words with the missing sounds. Have fun!

HOMOPHONES: EE, EA, E_E, -Y

Today is Phonics day. We're going to review the letter "e" homophones. As we usually do, we're going to start with a cpuple of songs, just to warm up. The second is one of my favourites!

 Then we're going to play the dinosaur eggs game. Listen and choose a word. 

 

After that, you've got a worksheet here to download and complete. Find the words in english, you can use Google Translator and then try to guess as many words as possible.

 

BROWN BEAR, BROWN BEAR, WHAT DO YOU SEE?

A través de este magnífico cuento de Eric Carle, los niños y niñas pueden, desde muy pequeños, aprender y repasar los nombres de algunos animales, la colocación de adjetivos en las oraciones y las preguntas con respuesta múltiple. 

Además las ilustraciones del autor, The Artist, son una maravilla, sobretodo la originalidad y simplicidad de sus dibujos  y el juego de colores que usa. 

Aquí la canción en esta versión country.

 Y una más divertida en forma de rap.

Os dejo aquí una propuesta de actividad sobre este libro, que servirá de repaso para consolidad aprendizajes que ya hemos visto en el aula y ampliarlos un poquito con algunos animales salvajes, como el oso.

Teach Your Monster to Read es un divertido juego de PHONICS y lectura en Inglés diseñado para ayudar a los estudiantes a mejorar la velocidad y la precisión con la que se reconocen las letras y los sonidos.

La versión para ordenador es totalmente gratuita. Solo necesita de registro (3 min).

El juego cuenta con ocho niveles (o islas como se les llama en el juego) cada uno con cuatro actividades. Los estudiantes juegan el juego como un avatar de un amistoso monstruo.

En cada isla los estudiantes pueden ganar premios por sus monstruos y personalizar la apariencia de los mismos. 

Me parece muy interesante para los alumnos de 4 y 5 años de Educación Infantil de nuestro colegio, ya que hemos empezado a aprender los Phonics, y sería una manera muy divertida de repasarlos jugando. #learningbydoing

Para quienes no conozcáis los Phonics, consisten en una serie de grafemas que se leen de acuerdo con el sonido que representan (y no por su nombre).
