It's not necessary to go abroad, travel far far away, to have a great spare time. We continue learning about transports. There are so many ways to get around these days, whether by air, water, or land. Can your child give each vehicle the correct classification? Watch this video and then try to classify the transports into LAND, AIR or SEA.
Draw a BLUE line to match the sea transports, a RED line to match the land transports and a YELLOW line to match the air transports.

Además podemos bajarnos el siguiente PDF de Kizclub para colorear tanto el autobús como los diferentes elementos que componen la canción. Una vez coloreados se pueden recortar para jugar con ellos, de forma que al reproducir la canción, por ejemplo, tendrán que levantar el recortable correspondiente a la estrofa que esté sonando de la misma.
3. Manualidades
Buscando en la red he encontrado esta curiosa manualidad para hacer nuestro propio School Bus con una huevera de cartón. Es una actividad muy sencilla para niños de Infantil.
Los materiales que necesitamos son los siguientes:
- Tapa de una huevera de cartón.
- Una cartulina negra.
- Pintura amarilla o roja.
- Dos trozos de cartón redondos para las ruedas.
- Pintura negra.
- Pegamento o cola.
- Recortes de revista de personas para el interior del autobús.
- Encuadernadores de latón (opcional).
Para realizarla seguiremos las instrucciones que expongo a continuación:
- Corta la tapa de una huevera de cartón. Dibuja la silueta en la cartulina negra que posteriormente recortarás.
- Colorea la tapa de amarillo.
- Mientras que se seca, colorea los trozos redondos de cartón de negro.
- De la misma manera, mientras que las ruedas secan, pídeles a los niños y niñas que recorten a personas de revistas para decorar el interior del autobús, pegándolos por la parte de atrás de los huecos o en las ventanas. Si tu tapa de la huevera no tiene agujeros, recórtalos o dibújalos con un marcador negro.
- Tapamos el autobús por la parte de detrás con la silueta recortada de la cartulina negra, adheriéndola con pegamento o cola.
- Pegamos las ruedas (si queremos que las ruedas giren como en la canción podemos adherir encuadernadores de latón.
- Escribimos en la parte superior del autobús SCHOOL BUS.
¡Y listo! Ya tenemos nuestro propio autobús. Una vez que cada niño o niña tenga el suyo, podemos repasar el vocabulario aprendido señalando las diferentes partes del mismo al mismo tiempo que cantamos juntos.
4. Flashcards
Podemos trabajar el vocabulario de la canción de igual manera a través de las siguientes flashcards. Nos las podemos descargar aquí. En ellas se asocia el sonido, forma o acción con los elementos de la canción. Podemos usarlas para jugar al juego de Guest which one is missing! Este consiste en pegar todas las flashcards en la pared, pedir al niño que sustraiga una y la esconda, mientras que el resto de la clase tiene los ojos cerrados. Una vez hecho esto, los compañeros tienen que adivinar que flashcard es la que falta. De esta manera ejercitarán la memoria al mismo tiempo que se aprenden el vocabulario.
5. Interpretamos la canción

Además las ilustraciones del autor, The Artist, son una maravilla, sobretodo la originalidad y simplicidad de sus dibujos y el juego de colores que usa.

Teach Your Monster to Read es un divertido juego de PHONICS y lectura en Inglés diseñado para ayudar a los estudiantes a mejorar la velocidad y la precisión con la que se reconocen las letras y los sonidos.
La versión para ordenador es totalmente gratuita. Solo necesita de registro (3 min).
El juego cuenta con ocho niveles (o islas como se les llama en el juego) cada uno con cuatro actividades. Los estudiantes juegan el juego como un avatar de un amistoso monstruo.
En cada isla los estudiantes pueden ganar premios por sus monstruos y personalizar la apariencia de los mismos.
Me parece muy interesante para los alumnos de 4 y 5 años de Educación Infantil de nuestro colegio, ya que hemos empezado a aprender los Phonics, y sería una manera muy divertida de repasarlos jugando. #learningbydoing

Para quienes no conozcáis los Phonics, consisten en una serie de grafemas que se leen de acuerdo con el sonido que representan (y no por su nombre). Por ejemplo /a/ se lee "a" y no "ei", dicho a grosso modo. Haz clic en la imagen para escuchar los sonidos que componen el alfabeto inglés y practicarlos:
Esta canción, Humpty Dumpty, es un clásico de la rima infantil inglesa del siglo XIX. La estuvimos viendo a lo largo del segundo trimestre. Estoy segura de que a los niños les encantará recordarla de nuevo.
Para divertirnos después de cantar, podemos hacer estas fichas. En la primera tenemos que trazar las líneas y colorear a Humpty.
La segunda es para los más mayores. Recortamos las diferentes viñetas y las pegamos en un folio nuevo según el orden de la historia.
Time for a lovely story! Como disfrutamos con los cuentos, y más todavía si nos los contáis vosotros. Hoy tenemos la suerte de contar con Pierre, nuestro compañero del cole, que nos cuenta unos de sus libros favoritos en inglés: Mr. Happy and the Wizard.
Pierre es bilingüe, y ya lee muy bien en inglés. Ha querido compartir con nosotros esta bonita historia. Seguro que todos aprendemos algo nuevo a través de ella. Como dice el refrán, "nunca te acostarás sin saber algo más". Estad muy atentos porque durante todo el vídeo, ¡hay mensajes importantes con expresiones y vocabulario!
Compartires importante, nos hace ser más humanos ya que nos permite preocuparnos más por el otro que por nosotros mismos. Cuando compartimos desarrollamos habilidades sociales como la asertividad y la empatía.
